Tim and Michelle Rasbeck volunteered at a Habitat for Humanity build earlier this year. Tim has a strong construction background and Michelle along with their friend, Leeann Peterson, were willing assistants! The home being built in Crestview will benefit a young single mother. To be eligible, she must complete many requirements as well as participate at not only her build but other builds as well.
The Saturday the Rasbeck’s volunteered there was also a large group of young airmen from Eglin AFB. It was drywall hanging day which proved to be quite an experience for Michelle and Leeann! Leeann is retired USAF and utilized her strong organizational skills while Tim was the “rock star” of the event with all his construction experience. He was given an “open invitation” to return!
The joy of participating in a volunteer event such as this is the immediate gratification of seeing your portion of the job completed. The Habitat for Humanity welcomes all volunteers regardless of skill set and al they require you to bring is a positive attitude.
